World Day against Trafficking in Persons (WDATiP) is commemorated by Member States of the United Nations every year on 30 July.    

The incidence of human trafficking is increasing in the Caribbean as economic, political, and social pressures drive more people into situations of exploitation and trafficking as they become more and more desperate to improve their lives and the lives of their family members. 

This year, the IOM team in Trinidad and Tobago collaborated with partners to organize a hugely successful event including a 5-K Walk to raise awareness on the scourge of Human Trafficking.   Hundreds of people showed up to take part. See photos here.
